SMART repair or a full bodyshop job?

SMART repair works best when the panel underneath is sound and the damage is small: a scuff on a bumper corner, a chip, a light scratch, a small dent, or marks on a mirror cap, trim or spoiler. Because only the damaged area is treated, it uses less material and takes less time, which is why it usually costs less than a conventional repair.

SMART repair near you, without a full bodyshop job

Most people looking for a SMART repair have one or two small marks they want gone without paying for a whole panel to be repainted. A scraped bumper corner, a chip on the bonnet edge, a light scratch on a door or a scuffed mirror cap are typical. Because the panel underneath is sound, the repair can be confined to the damaged area and blended out into the original paint.

Our workshop is in Harlington, close to Heathrow, and is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 6.30pm and Saturday 9am to 4pm. Small jobs like these can often be fitted in quickly, and several marks on one car can be done in the same visit.

How a SMART repair is carried out

The damaged spot is cleaned and inspected, then lightly sanded so the edges of the mark are feathered into the surrounding paint. Any small dent or chip is filled and shaped. The colour is mixed to your paint code and applied only to the repair area, then lacquer is blended outwards so there is no visible line. A final polish brings the gloss up to match the rest of the panel.
